The vision for the Village Creek Classic Canoe and Kayak Race is to highlight Village Creek as Silsbee’s greatest recreational asset and promote the sustainable use of Village Creek as a place to congregate, while creating a fun competition and playful event connecting the nature lover and outdoor enthusiasts. 

Race Schedule


7:00 AM – Registration/Check-In/Shuttle service begins for Adventure Seeker Race Only

8:30 AM- Adventure Seeker Race begins at Hwy 418

8:00 AM – Registration/Check-In/Shuttle service begins for Passionate Paddler & Clean-Up Races

9:30 AM – Passionate Paddler Race begins at Hwy 327

9:30 AM – Creek Clean-Up Race begins at Hwy 327, following the Passionate Paddler Racers

10:30 AM – 1:00 PM – Lunch served at First Baptist Church in Silsbee by Novrozsky’s

1:30 PM - All race routes need to be completed by this time

*Winners will be announced, and awards given once final times are calculated for that Race.

*Note: This is not a professionally timed race, nor is it a qualifier for other races.


There are three race categories designed to take participants 1-3 hours or 2-4 hours to successfully complete. Participants will be allowed to bring their own kayak/canoe or must rent one.


  • The Adventure Seeker Race Category is a 10 mile course on Village Creek from Hwy 418 to Baby Galvez, starts @ 8:30am.

  • The Passionate Paddler Race Category is a 2.5 mile course on Village Creek from Hwy 327 to Baby Galvez, starts @ 9:30am.

  • The Creek Clean-Up Race begins on Village Creek from Hwy 327 to Baby Galvez.  Mesh trash bags will be provided at the start line for participants to pick up trash along the creek and creek bank, starts @ 9:30am.


Following the event, burgers will be provided by Novrozsky’s at First Baptist Church and awards will be announced at the Winner’s Tent. We hope you or your team will join us for burgers, vendors, games & activities, and a family fun fest.

  • Participation cost includes t-shirt, goodie bag, and a hamburger by Novrozsky's

  • Presale Tickets are $35 per person, ends Friday, May 31st. Day of event price is $40 per person. 

  • If you are renting a canoe/kayak, YOU MUST RESERVE YOUR OWN by calling Eastex Canoe Rentals @ 409-385-4700 or Sharp’s Canoe & Kayak Rental @ 409-385-6241.

  • Note: THEY MAY RUN OUT, so reserve your canoe/kayak and register ASAP.

  • All participants must park at the First Baptist Church 350 Hwy 96 S. Silsbee, TX 77656. A free shuttle service is available for spectators, participants, and boats.

  • Awards will be given for the three fastest racers for each race and category. Categories include 2-person canoe, 1-person kayak, and for 2-person kayak for 1st place only for the Adventure Seeker and Passionate Paddler.

  • For the creek clean-up race, awards will be given to the three who collect the most trash in pounds.

  • Awards will be announced at the Winner’s Tent once the results are in. Pictures will be taken of the winners with the Silsbee Board President and the Presenting Sponsor.

  • Desired t-shirt sizes are not guaranteed for registrations received after May 31st.

  • Lunch is provided by Novrozsky’s following the race and included for participants.
